Covid+ Safety

Safety and cleanliness has always been a priority at my big Langley studio. With Covid in circulation, I thought I would share some of the ways that I work hard to keep my clients (and myself) safe!

I can never risk getting sick as I work with little ones, so I have always gone above and beyond what was required. Many of the Fraser Health Authority recommendations I already have done for the last 13 years! I have a few new policies also shown on the infographic below.

My studio has been designed to keep you safe. It is very large (1500 sq feet), with a private nursing room/changing room for parents, a private client bathroom, as well as separate offices, and a very large shooting studio that keeps 12-20 feet between the photographer and family for most images. Hand washing is done in separate bathrooms for clients and staff. There are large windows that are opened before and after each session for airing, and ventilation, heating and cooling is kept separate. No shoes are permitted to be worn in the studio, and pets are never permitted in the studio, without exception.

Before and after every session, the studio is thoroughly cleaned. Soft fabrics and clothing are laundered before use.

At the door, you will be asked a series of health screening questions, and your temperature will be taken. If you have a fever or Covid symptoms, you will be asked to leave and reschedule. Please do not try to hide symptoms, especially for siblings, as it potentially endangers the staff as well as the other clients. Even before Covid, getting your photographer sick means cancelling weeks of work and disappointing many families who may not be able to find a replacement last minute. Rescheduling is preferable.

During the newborn session, your photographer will wear a mask, and a pair of clean gloves as much as possible. Please do not bring any props from home, and keep your personal items in the designated holding areas. Please do not touch any of the studio belongings not being used in your session.

Only people being photographed are permitted to attend the session, we do not have room to accommodate an audience. This includes grandparents, cousins, friends, nannies, etc.

In terms of booking policies for any future waves of Covid:
A retainer is required to book any session, it is always nonrefundable. Should there be a mandatory government closure of my business, in that instance only, we offer a one-time transfer of the retainer to the next sequential studio session. So maternity retainer -> newborn session. Newborn retainer –> older newborn session.

My spots are limited and in demand, so make sure to inquire and book your session in advance! I look forward to capturing your family soon!
