We are cloth diapering our twins – and good thing too – we’re saving $14-$20 a DAY in disposables! I was sent two newborn all-in-one diapers to try out from a newer Canadian cloth diapering brand called “Easy Peasies,” and I’m happy to share our thoughts here. I was provided with a diaper for the purposes of this review, but as always, my opinions are unbiased and my own!
The Easy Peasies newborn AIO is an “all in one” cloth diaper – meaning that everything you need is all in one piece. It’s like the cloth equivalent of a disposable diaper, except you don’t throw it away at the end! It has a waterproof outer made of PUL, the inside is lined with super soft fleece (the softest in our collection!), and the absorbent middle is made of 2 layers of microfiber and 2 layers of hemp. Only the soft fleece touches baby, and inner gussets and soft ruffly elastics keep messes in! It’s designed to fit babies 4-15 lbs and includes a pocket opening for adding a booster for more absorbency (if needed).
From the brand:
“Like many disposable diapers, our newborn diaper offers you an umbilical cut-out that snaps down and then back up when your baby no longer needs it. We made this diaper with preemies in mind by adding an extra crossover snap on the hip that allows you to get an even tinier waist fit and also serves as a means to tuck, and roll the dirty diaper up, containing all the mess. Two snaps on either hip allows you to get a nice fit, every time.”
About $15.99 for the diaper. This is a all-in-one diaper, so you don’t have to buy additional covers or inserts, but you will need a separate stash of diapers for when your baby outgrows these ones.
Easy Peasies (EP) is a Canadian-made cloth diaper company based out of Stanley, New Brunswick. I have found that the owner, Jessica Mackenzie, is always available to answer any questions related to her products or cloth diapering. This company has very pleasant customer service and a good warranty on their products. Easy Peasies also offers pocket diapers (my favourite!), swim diapers, and an assortment of other baby products.
WELL-MADE
The materials used in these diapers just blows me away. The fleece is the softest I’ve met in a cloth diaper, the PUL is wonderfully stretchy, and the elastics leave no red marks WHATSOEVER. Woot!
MADE IN CANADA
These diapers are made in Alberta from Canadian materials, Easy Peasies is based on the East Coast, in New Brunswick.
RUFFLED LEG ELASTICS
Gentle ruffled leg elastics keep messes in, and not on our baby, us, or the furniture!
AMAZING FIT
The wings are soft and stretchy, the ruffled leg elastics are soft for baby. The crotch is trim between baby’s legs – this diaper gives a MUCH trimmer fit than Applecheeks size 1 (which we used and did not like on our second child- though we did love size 2). The umbilical cord snap-down was useful when the babies hadn’t lost their cord clamps.

SOFT INNER GUSSET
Easy Peasies diapers have a soft fleece inner gusset that acts as a first barrier for messes (but trust me, those leg and back ruffles are holding it IN). I’ve tried double-gusset pockets before and the gusset was really hard (like who wants to sit on a bumpy diaper??), but these are soft and comfy for baby. They didn’t stain, even from newborn poop!
COLOURS
EP has a great selection of modern colours, with new ones added regularly. I love their “mint” and “jewel”!
SEMI-ADJUSTABLE ABSORBENCY
This all-in-one diaper does include a pocket diaper opening in the back for adding a booster (sold separately) to increase absorbency.
TRIM + CUTE
These diapers are REALLY trim. “Trim” is a subjective word in the cloth diapering world, but these EP all-in-ones are slim between the legs, and I really like that in a pocket diaper.
Although these diapers did fit our babies from birth (smallest baby was 6lbs,8oz), they are the very last settings at 12lbs (2 months old). I don’t think they will make it to 15lbs, as advertised. We did find that our twins outgrew the absorbency before outgrowing the diaper, but we did not add a booster, which would have solved this problem.
Would I recommend these to others?
Absolutely!
Would I recommend someone to make a whole stash of just these?
I would recommend grabbing some for your diaper bag, for sure, though I personally prefer more cost effective diapers for bulking up a newborn stash. They are very cute and would be perfect for portraits. These all-in-ones would be great for daycare, daddies, or other caregivers!
