Considering that she used to spend hours jogging along its gravel paths, over its wide-planked bridges, and on its sandy beaches, it was only natural that Jade’s maternity journey would see her back at Jericho Beach Park, Vancouver. I had the pleasure of taking her maternity photographs a couple of weekends ago, and it was a real treat to photograph such a special time in her and her husband Gordi’s lives. An expectant time, you might say!
They are expecting a girl (! Love!) at the end of May. With Jade’s beautiful eyes, I can’t wait to see what their little one will look like!
Jade confessed to me that until the last minute, she wasn’t quite sure that she wanted to have her maternity photos taken, but with botched wedding photographs, thought that her daughter would want to see what her parents looked like before she was born. That’s the thing – sometimes, you have to put aside insecurities and just do it because if you don’t, you’ll look back from the wisdom of the future and wish you had.
Beautiful photography is a luxury, but it is also something that you will never regret. EVER. I’ve heard so many horror stories from clients this year – clients who wished they had taken the jump to professional photography earlier.
“I wish I had maternity photos taken before my child was born. It was such a wonderful experience to have her that close, and it’s hard to remember now.”
“I wish I had beautiful photos of my son when he was tiny. Time went so quickly.”
“I wish I had done more research and trusted my heart. We went with a budget photographer, and I can’t bear to look at our wedding photos.”
I know Jade won’t be regretting this session, and I know her daughter will love looking back at her mother’s maternity photos. Don’t wait to feel beautiful. You already are. Don’t think that any phase of life isn’t worth capturing. It is. Life is too short and precious. You deserve beautiful photographs.
Best wishes, Jade and Gordi. I know you’ll make wonderful parents.
