To my mother
Friend, confidante, sharer of clothing.
I took your shoes and wore them out.
I grew up and wore you out.
Brownie leader, girl guide leader, birthday party hostess extraordinaire.
You baked me cakes, I gave you an ulcer.
Voice of wisdom, sanity-keeper, angel on my shoulder.
The face in the mirror is one we both share.
I can only hope to be as good as a mother to my children as you are to me.
Love you always and forever, Mommy.
