Erika knew that a proposal was coming. She had, after all, scouted and selected her ring (on Chris’ urging) – it was only a matter of time.
When you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with a person, well, you get excited and can’t wait for “forever” to begin!
So, she waited. Aaand…one warm summer evening, Chris suggested that they go for a walk along one of Vancouver’s beautiful beaches. Erika agreed (who DOESN’T like long walks on the beach??), and got ready to go. Chris was carrying a backpack, and that was kind of strange, but… nevermind. She shook it off.
They walked along the same path from their first date’s walk. Hmm… Nevermind.
Chris suggested that they stop and relax on a bench and watch the sunset. It seemed like he was going to propose – but then, that would mean he WASN’T going to propose? Right? RIGHT? He fiddled in the bag at his side.
And then it was happening – the moment she had waited for, for so long. Since before him, since forever.
“Yes. YES! A million times! YES!”
Erika and Chris are two of the funniest people I know. Erika is stubborn (as her big sister, I’m allowed to say that), sensitive, intensely creative, and generous to a fault. Chris has a wry, sarcastic sense of humor that blends perfectly with hers, is patient, and loves her in any and every way he knows how. They are BOTH a bit silly at times. 😉Love this one.
Love this one even more… (forgive me, I’m indecisive) Their wedding will be in May next year, when the Vancouver azaleas and blossoms are all in bloom. We balanced out their spring wedding with some autumny-goodness!
I love the way he looks at her. ♥Knowing that Erika was set on colourful, fun photos, Chris found these balloons just in time for their engagement session. Literally – like ten minutes before!
Erika and Chris, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding next spring. Thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer!
