Vancouver Wedding Photographer | Cecil Green | Kavitha + Reza

Seconds ticked past, following the curve of the clock. Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into a breathless urgency. Wedding days have their own time, uniquely slow and blindly fast. You’ll always remember the smell of the hairspray, of the perfume that you chose oh so carefully, but just the same, weddings, for many brides, are a happy colourful blur. Blink and you’ll miss it.

Stop. Smell your roses. Luxuriate in this day. Your day.

Kavitha was so calm and serene.

Kavitha’s dress was custom-designed and handmade for her by the designer Abigail Claire. It was made of a gorgeous white and silver sari fabric, hand-picked for the wedding in Sri Lanka, where Kavitha’s parents are both from. I thought that was a lovely way to tie in her heritage. The gorgeous blooms were courtesy of Suki’s Flowers.

Kavitha was radiant. Simply breathtaking.

The ceremony was held at Cecil Green Park House. As the guest gathered, I was struck by how colourful the ceremony location was becoming. Sari by sari, the seats were filling up with the people who loved Kavitha and Reza ever so much. You could feel the anticipation.

Kavitha and Reza’s brunch reception was held inside the Yorkeen room at Cecil Green Park House. As a nod to their British roots, vintage teacups filled with vibrant pink and purple blooms dotted the tables.

Their wedding cake had a twitter topper – perfect, seeing as Reza works for the awesome twitter company, TweetDeck! The cupcakes had alternating sugar toppers with either a paisley design or the bride and groom’s initials. Yum!

Cake by Anna Elizabeth!

And there’s nothing quite like a roast, erm, I mean, toast by your father…

There’s something to be said about the love between sisters…

I love personlized touches on a wedding day, and Kavitha and Reza did a fabulous job of blending old cultures and new, British and Sri Lankan. Just lovely.

Kavitha and Reza, it was an honour and a privilege to be your wedding photographer. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, or for a more wonderful couple.

Best wishes, and much love,

Alexandra Hunt
