Vancouver Wedding Photographer | Lake Engagement | Christa + Jon

He was helping her roomate move in, and when her bright blue eyes met his, Christa was confused and certain that Jon hated her – and mistook his serious demeanour for dislike the longest time.

As it turned out – he didn’t hate her – not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all… ♥We held their engagement session along the banks of a beautiful creek. This is one of my favourite sessions to date – so you’ve been warned – there’s lots of eye candy coming your way! 🙂Jon proposed to Christa at the Sandbar restaurant on Granville Island.

Poor guy – he kept trying to pop the question, but their server kept coming over and interrupting him! Finally he pulled a “what’s that! look over there!” and when Christa looked back at him, Jon was smiling and holding a ring!Nice. I always make sure to capture a few classic portraits that Mom and Dad will love! 😉Annnnd…back to our regularly schedule programming….  LOVE THIS ONE!I make sure to give my couples lots of guidance and try to make them feel comfortable. Jon and Christa were natural models!Jon loooves Christa’s laugh!Love these. I could have shot here all day!  Christa, you look BEAUTIFUL!Aren’t they adorable! Yeesh! 🙂Christa and Jon love to play chess together, so we made sure to incorporate it into their session.Advance warning – I am so in love with these. They’re ALL my favourites. I’m pretty sure I’m going to make these into wallpaper, I love them that much. 😉

If you follow this blog, you know how much I love trees, and creating gorgeous art images for my clients that incorporate the leafy giants.  Like Joyce Kilmer’s poem…

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I think that Nature loves LOVE just as much as we do.  ♥Jon and Christa, thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer! I can’t wait for your wedding day!
